Joan Baert (she/her)

Joan Baert (she/her) serves as a substance use prevention specialist at Easterseals MORC where she provides education and support for young people and their families. As part of the Community Team and the SUD Integrated Health Team, Joan also serves as a prevention resource for clinicians and is engaged in community outreach with schools, courts, and other youth-serving organizations with a special focus on addressing health disparities in the LGBTQIA+ community. As a former substance use prevention coalition leader and public school educator for more than 25 years, Joan is passionate about helping kids, families, and communities to thrive by preventing addiction and harm through substance misuse. Joan lives in Wixom with her husband and spoiled Australian Shepherd and is a singer, pianist, gardener, and mom to four young adult children.
